because thats what the book is about LOL. this town goes blind. well not the whole town, but a lot of ppl do and they're kept into an old mental asylum but the doctor's wife is the only one that isn't blind and...yeah. its intense though. and the soldiers just kill you if you approach them cuz they're standing outside of it and they dont want the disease hahaha
